A LITERARY SALON hosted in Sedona by artist Ellen Kamerling was well attended and a rousing success! I read a passage from I Knew It Then that described my childhood visits to my grandfather’s house in San Mateo, CA. The drive down and back in the car with my mother, Auntie Mary, and Uncle Dom were events in and of themselves—total grist for the mill of writing, and definitely for reading aloud. “So when’re ya gonna do the audio book?” was the first response after my performance, followed by enthusiastic agreement from our hostess; Cathy Gazda, my friend, neighbor, webmaster, and fabulous artist www.cathygazda.com; and assembled guests alike. When, indeed… |
A FEW MONTHS AGO, I got a message on Facebook from my friend Adrienne Lee, whom I hadn’t been in contact with since the ‘70’s, when I lived in Los Angeles. Shocked and thrilled, we quickly revitalized our friendship. I sent her a copy of I Knew It Then—“I loved it!” she said.
“You can help so many people by sharing your story.” That was the beginning of our new working relationship. Adrienne is a marketing coach who has all kinds of ideas to promote the book and me on The Internet. Ten years of experience, a quick and brilliant mind, a kind, patient, and gentle-hearted disposition, and a great sense of humor give her the expertise and skills to get me going in a way I never would’ve predicted. However, my trusted advisor and clairvoyant, Aria Magi, whose website is: www.eyeofthemagi.com, told me last summer that I would be doing a lot of marketing and selling over The Internet. Gotta love that girl! |
I am booking dates now for future appearances: Literary Salons in private homes and speaking/reading engagements in public venues, beginning the
year in California and The Southwest.

THE SEDONA BOOK FESTIVAL was so successful that by 11 a.m. the organizers were talking about next year and adding another row of author tables down the middle of the tent! Yippee! My talk was well-attended and very warmly received. The mood was festive and bright, the music was lovely, and it ran without a hitch! Thanks Barbara Litrell and Joe Neri!
